Technical Connection has created an avatar called Tara to help guide advisers through their training needs online.
Unveiled at the Technical Connection conference in London today (June 4) as the keynote speaker, Tara set the agenda for the day as well as explaining what its role will be.
The avatar told delegates, who were gathered at the old Chartered Insurance Institute hall in Aldermanbury, that "over the coming months, I will be appearing on TechLink to deliver content that has been written by the consultancy team you will be hearing from today".
Technical Connection / St James's Place is no stranger to developing new technology to help in training advisers.
Last year, as reported at the time by FT Adviser, the 2023 Technical Connection conference unveiled a virtual reality training tool to help advisers get into the shoes of clients dealing with issues around dementia and cognitive decline.
At the time, Joshua Ellick, immersive technology manager for SJP, described the film experience was "quite emotional", and had been developed after discussion with many advisers and organisations who have experience of working with people in cognitive decline.
This was expanded, including developing it with the CII to create a wider vulnerability VR empathy training programme.
This is aimed at enhancing advisers’ awareness of interacting with clients in vulnerable situations, particularly in the light of consumer duty requirements.
It also aims to develop adviser-client relationships within the financial services sector and foster deeper understanding, awareness and empathy.
