Advanta Wealth has announced a three-year partnership with the Rugby Players Association (RPA).
The deal will see the wealth manager deliver financial education and advice to all RPA members, including premiership rugby players, the England women Red Roses and RPA retired players.
Commenting on the deal, Advanta chief commercial officer, Mark Pearson said: “Announcing this partnership at the start of the Six Nations championship and in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup is at an incredibly busy time for the squads.
"Ensuring that they have access to high quality advice ensures that their focus can be on the pitch and that their finances are in safe hands.”
The RPA’s chief operating officer, Stuart Munday added that he was delighted to have Advanta join it as its official wealth management partner.
“Our values around financial planning and the wellbeing of players align closely with Advanta Wealth and we have no doubt that they will provide invaluable expertise to our members,” Munday said.
Back in August, former professional rugby player Dave Lewis told FTAdviser how a representative of the Rugby Players Association inspired him to embark on a second career in financial advice.
A move into a non-rugby career while still playing rugby is something players are encouraged by the Rugby Players Association to do.
Lewis said at the time that the association “almost immediately” encourages players to think outside of rugby and what to do if “the worst happens or you get let go or injured”
