However, Chan also noted long call wait times from providers, with it generally being harder to get hold of people on the phone to help.

Gallacher added that whilst some providers had certainly “got to grips” with the situation since the beginning of the pandemic, the current delays and responses were “not acceptable” from pension providers and insurers after a year.
