We cannot rule out an emergency Budget, particularly in the event of a "shock no-deal Brexit", according to Tom Selby, senior analyst at AJ Bell.
Speaking to FTAdviser following the Spring Statement earlier this week, Mr Selby said chancellor Philip Hammond "set up a world where we leave the EU on 29 March in an orderly fashion", and "a world where we leave without a deal in a disorderly fashion".
Asked what pension announcements he would like to have seen Mr Hammond deliver, he said "the way successive governments have kicked the social care can down the road has been absolutely disgraceful".
He added it would have been good to see the government take the issue of life expectancy changes seriously, given that improvements "have ground to a halt".
Finally, Mr Selby predicted what pension issues a Labour government was likely to tackle if they were voted in following a general election.
Each week, FTAdviser will be joined by a guest from the industry to discuss the week in news and pressing industry issues.
