Latterly our careers followed different paths but those paths crossed on many occasions allowing us to keep in touch. I was delighted that he obviously enjoyed his days at Axa Wealth and more recently at AJ Bell where he was clearly totally at home. To lose someone of his intelligence, enthusiasm and zest for life at such a young age is absolutely tragic – and of course for his wife Rita and daughter Sophie – who were both so important to him, he is irreplaceable. Rita and Mike had recently celebrated a big anniversary in Bellagio, Italy – he tweeted: “We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, or as it is alternatively called: 15 years of happy marriage!”
A day later he tweeted he was discussing DB transfers with an “old guy” up a mountain in Como. That was Mike – a man of the people and a true professional. God bless you Mike.
