Scale-up companies, in particular, have been crying out for funding for several years. Most, if not all, would dearly love to be able to issue bonds as a way to fuel growth rather than beg banks that have for years run shy of them or approach the dwindling number of alternative finance providers.
Letting them issue debt to HNW investors is surely a simple change that could inject much needed capital into the system and boost economic growth.
