As pointed out by our reader, JB68, the hypothetical basis of the calculation should be made clearer, and a note perhaps even in bold type included, to explain that this extra will not be anything to do with the state pension.
Ultimately, the government needs to make it clearer that this isn't necessarily an entirely factually accurate statement – more a guestimate – and the individual needs to check their personal arrangements.
