Axa Investment Managers has appointed Simon King as sales director for its UK wholesale business.
The newly created role aims to help grow the firm’s wholesale business and develop Axa’s relationships with key clients in the UK.
King, who joined the firm at the beginning of November, will oversee the promotion of Axa IM's key product ranges, including fixed income, thematic equities and listed impact investing.
He will report to John Stainsby, Axa IM’s head of core client group in the UK, who said King’s reputation will help build “deeper relationships” with Axa IM’s wholesale clients.
“Simon’s experience will provide a fresh perspective on helping to develop and expand our wholesale business as we look to continue to offer long-term value for clients,” Stainsby said.
King joined Axa IM from Bellevue Asset Management, where he worked as UK business development officer responsible for building the client base of the Bellevue Healthcare team.
Prior to this he held senior roles at T. Rowe Price, Woodford Investment Management and Thames River Capital.
Back in May, FTAdviser reported Axa Investment Managers had restructured its sales team in response to changing client habits after the pandemic.
At the time it was understood that the firm would no longer have regional sales representatives, instead serving clients with a ‘national’ approach.
As of September 2022, Axa IM had approximately €817bn in assets under management.
