Axa IM's Stride retires after four decades

Axa IM's Jim Stride is to retire from fund management after 40 years in the industry and more than three decades in charge of the firm's Distribution fund.

Mr Stride, who began running the Distribution product in 1984, will hand over responsibility for the portfolio and other funds in the range to Jamie Forbes-Wilson and Matthew Huddart.

Mr Forbes-Wilson and Mr Huddart, who form part of Axa Framlington's UK equities team, have been co-managers on the range since February 2016.

Axa IM Framlington Equities head Mark Beveridge said of Mr Stride, who retires this month: "Jim joined Axa in 1981 and was a pioneer in investing to meet the needs of cautious clients. He has managed the Axa Distribution fund range since 1984; it was the first of these types of funds launched.

“Jim has been hugely dedicated to representing shareholders’ interests at company AGMs working closely with the Axa IM Responsible Investing team for many years."
