Neptune manager Cassell takes Brexit sabbatical

Neptune UK equity manager Holly Cassell will take a two-year break from her fund responsibilities as she embarks on a two-year sabbatical advising the government on the Brexit process.

Ms Cassell will step away from her roles as deputy manager on Neptune's £578m UK Mid Cap fund and co-manager on the firm's £20m UK Opportunities vehicle to accept a two-year contract for an advisory role with the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Ms Cassell, who works with Mark Martin, had recently been promoted to more senior positions on the funds as part of a bid to nurture "home-grown talent" at the asset management firm.

The company has seen a significant amount of change in its manager line-up as of late. In August Patrick Close became the fourth US stockpicker to exit Neptune since May 2016 as the company decided to close his US Mid Cap fund.
