Legg Mason’s head of UK sales Adam Gent is leaving the firm after nine years at the company and is set to take up a new role covering northern Europe for Allianz Global Investors.
Mr Gent joined the Legg Mason from Henderson in 2007 and was made head of UK sales in 2010 as the company began a push into the adviser market.
However, he is now leaving the firm to become head of northern Europe retail and wholesale for Allianz GI. He is expected to join in March and will leave Legg Mason in the next few weeks.
Justin Eede, head of European sales and client service at Legg Mason, will assume Mr Gent’s responsibilities while the company looks for a permanent replacement.
Mr Ede said: “We would like to thank Adam for his contribution to Legg Mason’s UK growth and wish him every success for the future.”
