Maintaining a good LinkedIn profile is about more than preparing for your next job application.
It is about effective networking, landing speaking opportunities, gaining clients, as well as getting potential future job opportunities, says Paul Harper, managing director at executive recruitment firm Paul Harper Search.
He says: "It depends on where you are as an adviser, it could be good for your profile, it could be good for networking, it could be great for your profile...I would say that nearly everyone who meets you at a conference will look you up either before or afterwards.
"It's so important. It might give you speaking opportunities, it might give you client opportunities, and of course it might give you job opportunities."
