Openwork Partnership launches business school

The Openwork Partnership has launched a business school for established and aspiring advisers and others working in the financial sector who are interested in building their own business or advancing their management careers.

The move comes in response to what Openwork has described as the industry’s need to increase its population of high quality financial advisers and business owners.

Philip Howell, chief executive of The Openwork Partnership, said: "With the launch of the Openwork Business School, we intend to take professional development in our industry to a new level, both for advisers and colleagues at the centre."

The business school will extend its services beyond technical and professional qualification training and will provide commercial and management development needed to support career pathways.

Advisers and aspiring colleagues will share various training modules together, with the aim of better understanding each other’s roles and responsibilities in achieving best outcomes for clients.

The school’s curriculum will draw on training practice from professional service firms and academia as well as leveraging the Openwork Partnership’s internal expertise gained from the Openwork Academy.

Advisers and colleagues will learn from senior practitioners and can choose to follow one of the business school’s pre-developed learning pathways or tailor their own development programme from a suite of training modules.

Earlier this week, FTAdviser reported that Howell is to become Openwork's executive chair, amid a reshuffle of its senior management team.

The Openwork Partnership is one of the UK’s largest financial advice networks, with more than 4,300 financial advisers across the UK.
